| Tate returned to
the farm with Pierre on Christmas Eve. She still didn't know what she
was going to give Pierre. It looked as if she'd be staying up all night
to make something. Just past midnight, after Pierre had gone to bed, she
heard someone at the back door. Peering out through the lace curtains,
she saw Robert setting a large wrapped gift on the back porch. It was
the same shape as the Tate Urn, and if she squinted, she could just make
out the lettering on the gift tag: To Pierre, Merry Christmas, from Tate |
