After admiring the lights, Tate continued walking and soon reached the large stone house at the end of the orchard. She crawled beneath some low bushes near the house, then stood on her hind legs and peered into one of the large windows. She saw a brightly lit living room, and there was Great-Aunt Eloise, looking very comfortable indeed!
She seemed to be reclining on an assortment of silk pillows - and - was that a plate of smoked salmon beside her? Tate tapped her paw on the window lightly, and Eloise looked around when she heard the noise. She recognized Tate immediately, and slowly rose from the cushions.
When she reached the window sill, she motioned to Tate to come inside. She pointed to a small door in the wall; Tate hadn't seen it in the dark. Tate didn't need to be told twice; she pushed the door open with her nose and stepped inside.
